This wedding was truly a labour of love. After one and a half years of planning, I finally married the love of my love, Edwin Chan. When Edwin proposed, I immediately started planning the next day! Mainly because I got sick the day after he proposed and had to take a week off to recuperate. We had always envisioned a themed wedding. I love just about everything so it was hard to decide on the theme. With my love for the victorian era and Edwin’s love for video games, we decided to incorporate both ideas somehow. Eventually, we arrived on a mutual idea and aptly named our wedding “Victorian elegance with a touch of nerd”.
I am all about the details, so I really wanted to add as many personal touches as possible so many of the details I had done myself (and with the help of my wonderful friends and family).
The highlight of the evening, was probably the late night ice cream truck. On our very first date, Edwin brought me to an ice cream parlour because I had mentioned that I LOVED ice cream! We wanted to commemorate this day by sharing ice cream with our guests. So each guest received a Libbey sundae tulip glass, decorated with a tag with our engagement photos imprinted and a custom designed ice cream ticket, which would be used to receive your ice cream cone. Leveraging off this idea, our photographer, Sandy Tam, decided to do an ice cream inspired photoshoot on our wedding day. We had colourful fake ice cream as props and red and white banners symbolizing an ice cream parlor. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!
